Happy, healthy holidays!

During the holidays, don't forget to wash your hands well, and, more importantly, dry them thoroughly!

Some motherly advice stays with us for life, like “don’t talk with your mouth full,” “look both ways before crossing the street” or the classic “wash your hands before eating.”

.

Not only am I a mom, but I am also the President of Cascades Tissue Group, and I have 2,200 employees who see to the quality of the paper products we manufacture for you, day in and day out. With the holiday season approaching, I thought I would give you a present and share with you our family’s secret to protecting ourselves from the germs that are part and parcel of the handshakes and kisses exchanged with loved ones. Our secret, you ask? It’s proper hand washing. Your mother knew it too, didn’t she?

.

For years already, I have been telling my friends and family time and time again: wash your hands well, and, more importantly, dry them thoroughly. It’s your best defense against germs! And that’s not all. Did you know that in public washrooms, paper towel is much more hygienic than hand dryers? In fact, the stream of air from dryers deposits a startling amount of bacteria on your hands. Remember that, heading to the mall in the coming weeks!

.

It is with this in mind that our team manufactures paper towel and that Cascades has recently developed a one-of-a-kind product: the antibacterial hand towel. Believe it or not, but its effectiveness has been proven in a number of laboratory and real-life tests. This paper is dual-purpose: it dries your hands, but it also considerably reduces the number of bacteria left on your hands. We have started providing this product in all washrooms in our facilities. It’s one more way to show our employees that we take their health to heart. Paper towel is the most hygienic method of drying your hands, but the antibacterial version takes hygiene one step further.

.

As for you, what are your family’s secrets for protecting yourselves from germs? I would love to hear from you!
