Green Light for Eco-Fashion!

La Gaillarde boutique honours ethical fashion!

Cascades had a ton of fun with its first-ever fashion show, held at La Gaillarde, an eco-friendly fashion store in Montreal, Canada.  The show is part of the 25th anniversary celebration for Cascaderie, the company’s clothing boutique, which encourages everyone to go “green”, even with their wardrobe! Thanks to everyone’s hard work as a team, it was a “green come true.”

The Stars Were Shining!

The event was made even more special with the presence of a few local celebrities, who were gracious enough to be “runway models” for the day, promenading around in the latest Eco-outfits for the crowd. Thanks to: Steven Guilbeault, co-founder of and spokesperson for Équiterre; François Tremblay, environmentalist and columnist for Salut Bonjour!; Émilie and Hugues Fournel, two canoë-kayak Olymptic athletes; Isabelle Lemaire from Jour de la Terre; and Annie de Grandmont from La Gaillarde boutique.

And that’s not all! Six of our very own Cascaders showed up to strut their stuff – thanks go to Claudette Simoneau, Marie-Josée Arsenault, Marie-Eve Chapdelaine and daughter Mélodie, Hong Dung Dang Vu, Karine Jobin and Linda Denis. They were chosen for their long-term commitment to the company and dedication to our core values, which made them the perfect models for our new line of “green” fashion.

Long live Eco-Friendly Fashion!

The fashion show featured the work of some very talented Quebec designers: Musky, Créations encore, Myco Anna, Voyou, Marie-Josée Bergeron, Louve, Respecterre, Divine recup, Cul de sac, fibrEthik and Oöm.

We hope our Cascades Eco-Friendly Fashion show inspires other large corporations to do the same, and we encourage all consumers to support these forward-thinking fashion designers and labels. Small businesses such as these can thrive only if we support their entrepreneurial efforts, and we are proud to have done our part.
